Writing For The Web
Writing for the web can seem pretty daunting when you first start out... even for the most seasoned writer! It's not that the art of writing has changed, nor has the subject matter you might write about. The stumbling block for many is making the transition from writing offline to writing online.
Media Tectonics is a group that's been formed by Cindy Mullins and Doug Jackson in Tokyo to deal with just this issue.
As a member of the group I was honored to be invited to talk about my own experience of writing for the web and some of the things I've learned along the way. The slideshow I used is directly below. If you'd like to download a copy for reference, please see the link underneath the slideshow.
Download This Slide Show In PDF Format - videos of the presentation are at the bottom of the page.
You can also watch the presentation that goes with this slideshow on video. I have divided it into 5 parts as You Tube is limited to a maximum 10 minutes per video. I've tried to break in logical places that don't disrupt the flow too much. You'll find it here.
What Is Media Tectonics?
I think the best way to describe Media Tectonics is by using the words of its' founders, Cindy and Doug:
