So you know what you want to write and you've got the pictures on your digital camera that you want to show your family and friends. The problem comes when you try putting them online... that's if you're not an internet geek like us ; )
Well, we received a number of requests from different readers asking if it would be possible to record their Tokyo vacation on our website. We thought long and hard about this. The trick for us was how to keep it simple while letting you do what you need to do. That's how we came up with the idea of building a section of the site that would be all yours but we would still act as administrators. The goal? To give you an easy way that isn't too techie to post your Tokyo travel stories online.
This is exactly what your travel journal is designed to let you do. Quickly and easily record and upload stories and pictures from your Tokyo adventures.
We've put together a short video so you can see just how easy it is to set up your own Japan travel journal with us. Click here to go to the video. If anything's unclear after you're done with the video please send us an email to hdargan@tokyotopia.com. We want to get this right so no question is too small or silly!
Remember if you've bought the Taming Tokyo premium option then your payment automatically entitles you to one Tokyo travel journal. If you want more than one or if you only want to use the travel journal service and don't need the books, the cost is £15.00. To make your payment just click the add to cart button:
Here's what you need to do...
This is the application form that let's us know you want to set up a section on TokyoTopia where you can add your own Tokyo travel journal. When we receive this from you, we'll be checking one of two things:
- Have you bought the premium option of Taming Tokyo
- If you've not bought the book have you made the payment of US$15
Once we've verified this we'll open up your section so you can start adding your posts as often as you'd like.
The very first time you post we will need to authorize the first post (it can take up to 36 hours depending where in the world you are). Here's why we do this...
A few site rules (we're not saying you'd do any of these but we want to make it clear from the outset what's acceptable and what's not):
1.Don't use foul language. We want to keep this a friendly place where families feel safe sharing their news and updates.
2. Make sure anything you submit is original content that you have the rights to.
3. If you use photos of other people, please make sure you have their consent before putting them online.
We check all first entries just to be on the safe side. We reserve the right to close your Tokyo travel journal section if you fail to abide by the rules above. If you've got questions about any of this, email us at hdargan@tokyotopia.com
After you've submitted your application to start your Tokyo travel journal and we've received your payment (if applicable) we will set you up with your own dedicated area on TokyoTopia where you will submit all your future entries. You'll find this on our Your Tokyo Travel Journals page. Just look for the folder with your Tokyo Travel Journal title on it. All your posts with your form for submitting future posts will be in there. That's it : )
