Tokyo City Tours
There are a number of different Tokyo tours you can take within the city itself. From leisurely walking tours or a cruise down the Sumida river, to a birds eye view of Tokyo at night in a helicopter. See the list below for more information and enjoy your trip. If you want to go a little further afield, see our Tokyo day trips page.
- Tokyo Helicopter Cruises - A helicopter ride over Tokyo is a great way to take in the enormity of this city. If you time it right you can catch the sunset as you fly out over Tokyo Bay or, if you prefer, wait till it's dark to see the city night lights in all their glory.
- Hato Bus - The Tokyo tour choices provided by Hato Bus let you forget about the hassle of getting from A to B. Relax and enjoy your sightseeing.
- Walking Tours - There are walking tours with English speaking guides if you want to learn more about Tokyo from a local perspective. If you fancy going it alone then plan what you want to see, make sure you have a good map, and off you go.
- Sumida River Cruise - Take a Tokyo river cruise and follow the old route of trade and commerce to Edo as you make your way along the river. You can jump out at some great stops along the way including Sensoji Temple at Asakusa and Odaiba.
- Kabuki Theater and Noh Theater Tours - If you're looking for a more traditional Tokyo activity, why not try a Kabuki or Noh theater tour? English guidance is available so you don't need to worry about whether you'll be able to understand what's going on.
- Sumo Tour - Explore Ryogoku and it's sumo stables. If you're here at the right time of year spend a day at the Grand Sumo Tournament and experience a slice of geniune Japanese culture. This is one of my favourite days out in Tokyo so it comes highly recommended.
If you think we've missed something that should be included on this list, please let us know. We've tried to cover all the bases but, being human and all that, we're bound to miss something.
