Musashi Koyama Festival September 2009

This is my local area and this September Tokyo matsuri is an all weekend affair!

The omikoshi (the things you can see people carrying in the video) are prepared and collected together on Saturday night ready for their parade through the streets. People take it in turns to carry the weight - they're heavy! - and gradually they make their way down to the temple.

Along the way there are Tokyo street stalls selling food and fun stuff for kids. There's also the odd can of beer and other alcohol available as well : )
