Cheap Tokyo Accommodation - Where Can I Find It?

by Merelle Lee
(Philippines)

Hello,

Where can we look for a cheaper inn within Tokyo?

Hello Merelle,

Thanks for contacting us with your question! I'm not sure what your exact budget is but I'll do my best to give you as many options as possible.

If you're looking for cheap accommodation in Tokyo, there are some areas of the city that are definitely more affordable than others. For budget stays I recommend the areas of Ueno, Asakusa, Shinjuku or Shibuya. Of course they have high end stuff as well but they have a good range of cheaper places to choose from.

A place to start is on our Tokyo Hotel page. Go to the search box on the page and fill out your dates of travel and put Tokyo as your city choice. Give the search a chance to go through all the choices available - you'll see it bringing back results.

When it's finished don't freak out! The engine doesn't automatically bring you back the cheapest results. All you need to do is go to the top of the search and look for where it says Sort. Click on the Price option and the results will now be ordered from cheapest to most expensive. Take a look at these choices and see if anything there fits your budget.

If these still seem too high then you might consider staying in more of a guesthouse style accommodation rather than a hotel.

Check out our Tokyo Guesthouse section for some of the places we like.
