Attractions Near Grand Arc Hanzomon Hotel In Tokyo

Can you tell me some attractions near Grand Arc Hanzomon Hotel?

I will be staying only a few days and want to see the top attractions in this area.

Hello Francine. Thanks for sending in your question.

First of all, you're staying in a great area as you are close to the Imperial Palace and within easy reach of Tokyo station as well as the popular Ginza and Marunouchi districts.

Really you can go anywhere in the heart of Tokyo from here using the train system. Here are some ideas about the things you can do while you're here. I hope it's helpful.

  • Tsukiji Fish Market - This famous auction site is a great way to see how local commerce is carried out and also grab a great Tokyo breakfast of freshly cut sushi at one of the local stalls.

  • Odaiba - this man made island is not far from where you are staying and is a fun place to visit. There's some great shopping, join in one of the many events that takes place, visit the Miraikan or future science museum and generally just chill out as you take in the views of Tokyo Bay and Rainbow Bridge.

  • If you don't mind going a little further then I think any visit to Tokyo should take in the sights and sounds of Shibuya if possible. It's not a beautiful place, it's a place to experience. Enjoy the neon and join in the crowds as they surge across one of the busiest road junctions in the world - Hachiko crossing.

If you can let me know when you'll be coming Francine I will check to see if there's any special events going on during your stay. You might get lucky and be here during one of the big cultural or holiday festivals that take place in Tokyo!

Festivals in Tokyo in Februari - March
by: Anonymous

Hello,

I'm coming to tokyo on 27 February till 3 March. I was wondering if there will be some festivals going on?

=======================

Hello,

There are a couple of major events going on at both ends of your visit. It will depend on what time you will be arriving or leaving.

The first is the Tokyo Marathon on February 27. See http://www.tokyo42195.org/2011/index_en.html for more information about this event.

At the end of your stay there is a major cultural event taking place in Chofu on the west side of Tokyo. You can get there on either the Keio line or the Chuo line from Shinjuku station on the Yamanote line. It's called the Daruma Ichi or Daruma doll fair in English. The best event will be happening on March 3 and 4 although there is a smaller version happening on March 1 if you can't make it on March 3. For full information see this listing and scroll down to the dates for March http://www.japantimes.co.jp/entertainment/201003festivals.html.

I hope this helps : )
